A new music streaming service owned by Jay-Z is going live today. This new service attempts to set itself apart from other current players like Spotify, Amazon, Beats… by offering up the highest quality digital audio available (lossless compression). But that might not be the only trick up HOV’s sleeve. Jay-Z has apparently been busy inking deals with major labels & artists that would give his new service exclusive access to new albums before they become available to buy or stream anywhere else.
Across social media sites today, numerous artists & musicians have changed their profile picture to blue to “support” the arrival Tidal streaming service owned by HOV.
The service is priced at a hefty $19.99/mo and is expected to be available today.
Ahead of the official announcement they have reduced the introductory price to $9.99/mo.
While nothing regarding exclusive access has been confirmed yet, the official announcements from HOV himself are scheduled for 5pm EST.
